Good news today!
Got some great news today.
Since I left the military in 2007 my weight has gone up and down for years. I was in really good shape back then ( about 190ish and between 10-17% body fat depending on which cut/bulk cycle I was on).
At the beginning of March after a long Covid quarantine I stepped on the scale and it read 251 lbs. Man, that was a wake-up call. I decided then and there that I was going to get back into military shape or at least as close to it as possible. I've been eating clean, lifting 4 days a week, and hitting cardio (rowing/running) when I have time throughout the week.
My Dr. thought it would be nice to get a DEXA scan and see where I actually stand. I had my appointment yesterday. This morning I got this message from my doctor:
"Your body composition testing shows body fat percentage at 26.7% which places you in the slightly overweight category. No evidence of obesity. Would expect improved body fat percentage (reduced body fat) with phentermine, a good nutrition program, and your current exercise patterns. We can review it in detail at your upcoming appointment. Have a great weekend."
When I started this back on March first I was classified as Obese. I still have a ways to go and it always gets harder the closer to your goal you get, but wow did it feel good getting those results. I have been documenting everything, everything I eat, all the exercise I do, any supplements I take, and pictures every Sunday morning. Once I hit my goal I plan on posting a data dump of my journey!
