How do you guys get more veggies in?

Hey guys, I'm a long time lurker on this sub. I recently graduated college and (after having a breakdown looking at myself in the pictures) finally have decided to do the damn thing. I'm starting at 534 lbs. And everything is going okay now that my "MyFitnessPal" app has worked through its abandonment issues.

Anyway, onto the question. I'm having a problem. I am having trouble eating vegetables. Like, any at all. I grew up never being properly introduced to them and always disliked them. But now that I'm trying to make my diet more veggie focused, I can't get over the feeling of hating them. I'll snack on some sweet peppers (a fruit but whatever) and really try to like it or roast some asparagus with garlic until it smells heavenly but there's something in my dumb brain that doesn't allow me to enjoy them. Something to do with how the flavor and the texture and the knowledge that I'm eating veggies. It completely turns me off to eating them.

I WANT to love veggies. To me, the idea of loving veggies is so cool like going to a farmers market and getting some local stuff for a fresh salad or dinner that night is such a tantalizing idea. But, alas, there's a wall in the way.

So, any input on how I could get over this childish fear of veggies? I've been tempted to just sort of power through and eat like a salad a day until I find a flavor/texture combo that I love or force myself to eat some roasted veggies along with whatever I'm having for dinner and hopefully just root out this irrational hatred of them.

Have any of you been through this and found ways to be successful? Like certain recipes or veggies that turned it all around for you?

Also any general tips you want to give to me are welcome as well!

Sorry for rambling a bit and thanks in advance!!
