[SV] Onederland for the first time in over 20 years. (M39, 5'-11 1/2", SW: 264, CW: 198.5 lbs)
I have to drive my eldest to school here in a bit, but was given this surprise this morning. For the first time in over 20 years, I'm under 200 pounds. My goal was to be there before I turned 40, and I made it with 2 months to spare. I'm sure there will be some fluctuation to come, as there has been this entire time, but to see this with my eyes was a big deal. This community has been a help and inspiration over the last near two years, thank you all for being here, and doing what you do, even if you didn't know you did it!
For anyone wondering, there was no silver bullet. I have been doing IF since I started two years back, I don't eat breakfast, almost ever. Couple times a year at most. Instead, I drink black coffee, or coffee with almond milk. My wife and I have done a couple rounds of whole 30 since I started when we notice we're sliding or feeling like we need a reset. Also, we got a Peloton Bike+ at the beginning of the year, and I try to ride that about three times a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less.
And I let myself be hungry. A lot. It's not as bad as it used to be, and I'm getting better about knowing how much food my body actually needs/wants. In the last 6-9 months I've noticed myself just stopping to eat when I feel full. Past me tended to plow through it, and keep going, so there's some behavioral changes that I didn't try to do that have been pleasant surprises as well.
Good luck everyone out there! You got this!
