How to lose weight (and not gain) at a desk job where they give free breakfast, lunch, and snacks...
The last time I had a job like this I gained ~15 pounds over a period of only 6 months. Now this job is 9 months and I am petrified at the thought that I will let myself go again. I'm doing my best to just avoid any snacking throughout the day but it's hard to avoid breakfast/lunch since I cannot choose where we eat and sometimes the location isn't the healthiest. I suppose I could choose the healthiest option on the menu but I feel the mental toll in general will cause me to slip up when presented with delicious options, for free no less!
Does anyone have any tips? Or been in a similar situation? I know I could try to exercise after work but what makes it difficult is the ~12 hour workday. By the time I get home I am exhausted. And the exhaustion just leads to more snacking! Not to mention the position can be stressful... and I am prone to stress eat.
Any help is appreciated.
