Can you be too fat to lift weights?
I've put on all the weight I lost 4 years ago and more, before I went overseas and got my time sink job that I used an excuse to stop going to the gym I was lifting weights 3 days a week and loving it, lifting weights is something I have missed for too long.
I want to get back to lifting again but I am also riduclously fat again, I probably weigh 140kg at 5'10 and 34 years of male. My chest in particular is all flabby and boob like which it never was before so I really want to hit a bench press yesterday.
But am I better to wait until I've dropped 20 or even 30 kgs first? The gym I want to join is a powerlifting gym it's not really one that's got all the cardio machines and that it's mostly powerracks and barbell weights, so I am not sure if there is a smart "small steps" approach here or whether just jumping in to lifting weights even at 140kg is a fine thing to do.
Any input is appreciated, thanks
