I lost the weight through focus on exercise, diet coming second.
I have been following this subreddit for years trying to lose weight and I finally have. By doing what I feel is the opposite to what this place tells me.
I completely ignored the diet componant and lost it through exercise. Everyone here says weight is lost in the kitchen and I completely agree but heavy exercise changed the way I approached food without realising it.
I joined a boxing gym and went 5 days a week 2 hours a session. Its frickin hard but I genuinely enjoyed it. I was terrible, I couldn't run, couldn't do a push up and my situps took 10x longer then anyone else's. But I continued on.
I got insanely hungry from this, ravenous even. There are times in my week where I need food and I need it now. But for some reason the moment I am full I just stop, for every meal. I can be halfway through a milkshake and I suddenly have zero desire to finish it. I somehow accidently made myself eat intuitively. This wasn't months after closer to me being my goal weight, it was about a week after I started.
Its still me changing my diet but that change was not on purpose, it just happened. I have cravings now, I can stop eating, food tastes better then ever.
I just wanted to say bodies are weird, don't be afraid to try something different. If something works for you (and is healthy ofc) continue it, even if people are saying do it another way.
