How can I deal with junk food cravings?

I've been overweight for so long. I've been trying to CICO on and off for longer than I can remember. Back in January - I quit smoking. I had been smoking more than a pack a day for 20 years. Shortly after, I started running! I had never been a runner ever in my life. Now, 8 months later, I'm running 6-7 km 4 times a week (+ I also do Ninjutsu two nights a week as well).

I feel a real difference in my strength and stamina. However - I've been slowly getting fatter since I quit. I started the year at 98 kilos. And now I'm at a solid 110 kg. I'm going crazy. I feel horrible and fat.

I have a good system for eating healthy meals (I buy frozen, homemade "fitness" meals and that's what I eat for lunch and dinner.) What is getting me is "boredom" or "not feeling good" cravings. I am addicted to junk food / fast food / sweets / everything that's bad for you. When I'm feeling good, the cravings aren't as bad. But when I'm tired or not feeling 100% - I fall off the wagon so hard.

Can anyone give me some suggestions of how I can be stronger in these moments?

also - are there any ex-smokers that may shine a light on when my metabolism might start coming back? I feel like I'm fighting an uphill battle here.
