A tip that has really helped me cut my calorie intake without feeling hungry: follow a strictly timed meal schedule and eat at exactly the same times. This helps in a few ways.
I never really see this mentioned in regards to weight loss, but something that has really helped me cut my calorie intake to below 1,000 per day without feeling hungry is to follow a strictly timed meal schedule. What I mean is to eat at EXACTLY the same time, and always the same portion size.
While the first few days are tough, what I’ve learned is that with a strictly timed eating schedule your body adapts and gets locked into the rhythm. I eat at exactly 9:30, 2pm, and 7pm. Now that my body has gotten used to it, I don’t really feel hungry until right before my meal, when my body “knows” it is time to eat.
I also use meal planning and prepare food ahead of time to make sure that for the respective meals I eat the exact same amount every time (I literally weigh it and try to get it to the gram). My body has also adjusted to that aspect, so I don’t feel unsatisfied or still hungry after eating as I sometimes do if portion sizes vary. And this has the added bonus of not having to think about what to eat. To me, having to decide what to eat is just another opportunity for temptation to sneak in. If your food already is prepared and you are on a timed schedule, you never really have to think about it.
This has helped me, I’ve lost 30 pounds in under 3 months and am half way to my goal.
