Hire the personal trainer!
Hi All,
I have been CICOing my way down from 280lbs for a LONG time now. I'm settled firmly on 1400cals a day and have thrown in a bit of IIFYM macro counting. During my weight loss, I have regained 20lbs or so on several occasions when life takes over, e.g., new relationship eating, moving house eating and m favourite... FESTIVE EATING!
I reached a point where my calories were consistent and I really wanted to get into the gym. In the past when I have joined the gym, I've tended to hit cardio machines only because I have no idea what to do with strength training. I've read the many fitness subs here, but even their beginner routines made no sense to me... it all just seemed like another language.
So 6 weeks ago I hired a trainer and it has been the best thing I have done in a long time! I am finally strength training, feeling confident with what I am doing and progress has been strong - I've dropped a dress size and many inches. I do plan on continuing with PT for quite a while, and for me it was the right decision. I think finding the right trainer is essential, but I just wanted to encourage others that if you're contemplating it... do it! For once I actually feel like my goal is attainable.
