How did you learn to control yourself around food?
I have a lot of binging tendencies. Usually I'm good, but on some days I'll be at a party and I'll steal the entire chip bowl and eat it myself. It'll set me back on my weight loss and even though I'll have 6 days where I'll eat at a defecit, this one day I'll eat so much to counter that.
I was at a party last night and there was tons of food. I ate so little during the day (about 300 calories). Then last night, I told myself I'd count everything.
It started with supper, I opted for a chicken breast, tiny bit of rice and lots of vegetables. I estimated maybe 400 calories at most.
Then the snacks came out and I lost control. I had a small plate and I must have filled it up to the top 5 times with chips, I had lots of candy, lots of chocolate, lots of fruits (with whipped cream though). I lost count after 1600 calories. I don't actually know how much I ate but it was A LOT!
This doesn't only happen at parties but evenings as well after work. I'll drink water but get bored of it quickly, it's like I have no control.
So my question now is in the face of all this food, how do I learn to just limit myself to the remaining calories I had left (I wanted to eat about 700 more)? How do I learn to control myself around food and not binge?
