Lost about 110lbs and gained mad strength with the CICO method.

Started at 257, Now I’m around 160. I got down to 153, decided to take a vacation from counting and really just enjoy all of the things I pushed out during this “rapid cut”. Lost the 100+ lbs in 8 months. I got certified CPT through NASM and now I’m helping others pursue their own fitness goals. Also working on getting my Fitness Nutrition Specialist cert. One thing that I’ve learned is excess consumption in ANY macro will contribute to weight gain (Yeah, I’m calling you Keto folks out).

I basically combined CICO methodology and created a deficit, and furthered that deficit with an hour a day of running. For example, when I started, my maintenance was 2400~ish calories. Add an hour of walk run intervals at that weight easily was an extra 1000/ day. That puts me at 3400. I eat 1400 that day and voila, 2000 calorie deficit! I ate a lot of chicken bowls and lean chicken based stuff in general. Always ate carbs to fuel the next workout. I also ate between 3-8pm (ish) making all of my morning workouts fasted.

Nothing has been more gratifying than losing this weight. It all started when I dislocated my knee getting out of bed for a glass of water. My mobility has greatly increased, my cardiovascular system is in excellent shape. I just recently ran a sub 6 minute mile.

I guess the point is that you can eat anything you want, within reason. Stop trying to change your lifestyle and just control the portions and focus on eating healthy more often. One step at a time, as they say :)

Nowadays I run or use the Jacobs ladder 3-4x a week and do strength training. I’ve recently hit a 405lb deadlift.

Stay strong, you can do it!!! ;) My current goal is 10% bodyfat. I’m almost there, got them sweet abs and obliques popping through and mad vascularity all over my arms. I feel like such a beast! I could totally snatch Mt Everest if I wanted to. Put Everest on a barbell and let me snatch it!
