What are your "rules"?
Okay, so rules might be the wrong word. Maybe "guidelines" works better. But what are the whatevers you try to hold yourself to as best as possible while you're losing weight. Mine are:
- No liquid calories. Zip, zilch, nada. They just don't fill me up and I'd rather have food. Water and diet soda for me. This is pretty easy for me, honestly, because I don't drink and I can't have coffee anymore because it worsens my anxiety.
- I have to be sitting down to start eating. Where I'm sitting doesn't matter, whether it's at the dinner table or in my car. My butt just has to be parked.
- No eating after 8. I kind of, like, attempt intermittent fasting sometimes, but I basically suck at waiting until noon to start eating...but I can at least manage not eating after 8!
- Gotta hit at least 50 grams of protein. Easier said than done, because I don't really like meat. But even if it means chugging a protein shake at 7:59, I do it.
I'm not super strict with these, but I do try to stick to them to the best of my ability. What I like about them is even when my calories for the day are way higher than I intended them to be, as long as I manage to follow da rulez I still feel like I've got the reins and I have an easier time getting back on track.
