Don’t you just hate when people assume things about what your doing when losing weight?

I’ve lost a total of 20 pounds since November. I’ve lost all of them due to following CICO.

My cousin has voiced her opinion about why I shouldn’t be doing CICO

Some background: my cousin considers herself a “health nut” cool cool she’s been doing this since she was fifteen- our moms are sisters so they fed us horribly our whole lives and she was sick most of her teens so she had to learn to eat better because certain foods made her body inflamed. I was totally supportive.

Fast forward to Christmas, I told her about CICO. She said not to count calories but I just brushed this off because why am I going to stop something that’s literally the only thing that’s ever worked?

Then she came over the other day and brought a magazine ARTICLE about how CICO is really bad and it’s not sustainable and bla bla bla. I said, it’s really working for me and I’ve seen some good results and more importantly I feel good. She then assumed that I was eating all bad foods by saying “but why can’t you just eat organic Whole Foods and not calorie count and eat badly?” I had to reiterate THREE times that when you do CICO it’s natural to eat foods that are more filling and sustainable because it makes doing it easier and that that’s what I was doing. (Lean meats and vegetables etc) It was like it went in one ear and out the other.

I also told her that CICO helps me understand what REAL portions look like, and it helps me also to stop binge eating and overeating in general. She said well it’s not like you can binge on carrots all day. Yeah I KNOW that but I still wish she wouldn’t fight with me about what’s actually working for me and other people.

Sometimes I wish that instead of people telling you how what your doing is wrong they would just leave it because what works for some people doesn’t work for others and vice versa.

So, I’m counting calories no matter what anyone says. It’s just annoying.Rant over.
