How big a role do genetics play? (Eating disorder trigger warning just in case)

Hi there, so just off the bat, I'd like to say that I'm someone who has recovered from an eating disorder. Being on this reddit is a little risky for me as I need to keep my mind-set focused on being healthy than losing weight, but I'm curious.

A few years ago, I lost 4 stone through Slimming World and then just outright calorie restriction.

I've actually never been able to get myself below 10 stone. I'm a 5'7" woman and it's only when I was going through my ED, restricting my calories to around 700/800 per day (plus exercise) that I was able to stay around the 10 stone mark.

I've fully recovered thanks to absolutely amazing friends and a long, difficult personal journey. :) Now, I'm focused on a balance between living healthy and doing what's best for my body. I don't step on scales to avoid the trigger, but I'd wager I'm around 11-12 stone. I judge by how my clothes fit and if they're too tight (although that rarely happens), I just eat a piece of fruit instead of a chocolate bar kinda compromise until they're cozy again. =D I'm also trying to learn how to get hunger signals back with mindful eating. I also work out 3/4 days a week with a tailored fitness plan (LOVE weight lifting!!)... However, I must admit I feel pretty pudgy these days, eve with my clothes fitting right and gaining muscle/definition from the gym. I saw myself from the side on a window's reflection and looked pretty pudgy! Might be the outfit I was wearing was unflattering. On a typical day:

Breakfast: Cereal, two types of fruit, pumpkin seeds, strong morning coffee.

Lunch: Skipped out on lunch for a long while, but started integrating it back in! Usually a little bit of fruit or a protein bar, or I'll go a little bit bigger and go around the 400 calorie mark. :)

Dinner: Always home cook, I never use ready meals. :) I use a portion plate, which is half a plate of two different veggies, a quarter carbs (usually sweet potatoes or some such), and a portion of meat for protein so usually a chicken breast or fish. :) Spinach and mushroom omelettes are a staple too!

Snacks: Sometimes another portion of fruit, sometimes a cheeky little packet of crisps (small ones, sunbites or such) or treat myself to dark chocolate or such. :)

I sometimes have a sugary Lucozade after the gym or again to treat myself with, but I'll have a glass of orange juice for the vitamin C, and then otherwise I'm drinking from my 3 liter water bottle.

Now, the weekend is a bit of a different story. I go home to see my grandparents and help them out with this and that. I skip lunch and then get a takeaway with my family after work (and it's usually a chips and cheese carb monster I'll admit lmao). If I'm ill disciplined (which happens a little too often on the Saturday) I'll cave in and get a second takeaway on the Saturday but it'll be like a salad or a wrap or something vege based. :)

Besides treating myself at the weekend, I feel I definitely don't over-eat. I still feel a bit heavy compared to other women I see, who have lovely figures while I feel chunky in comparison.

I think it's either a case of metabolism/genetics, or I'm taking in hidden calories that I'm not aware of, or that the takeaway at the weekend doesn't work in with me being the ideal weight. Might need to self-discipline myself to having it bi-weekly :)

However, I will never make my focus losing weight again unless for medical reasons. So I refuse to 'diet', but I orientate my mind with healthy decisions that will benefit my body ad mood. More water, more fruit/veg, etc! Just interested in any feedback you guys might want to give, any problems you're spotting etc =D
