Fat but undereating

Just a little question about my situation: I’m currently 19yo around 104kg with not a lot of muscle mass and high body fat. I’ve just recently started going to the gym and while tracking calories I’ve realised that I under eat from day to day. I usually only consume around 1000-1500 calories a day and my weight is most likely due to a complete lack of physical activity (something I’m changing now) . So as this is obviously not a lot of calories, my main question is how do I go about a calorie deficit to lose weight? Calorie calculators say my maintenance is double what I have, so do I still go a few hundred calories under that? Even though it would be an increase to what I’m eating now, or do go decrease my current calorie intake? Bit confused so any advice would help :)
