New diet

So I have done a few different diets before. I had some success with weight watchers a few years ago but only managed 3 months before falling off the wagon. Was doing really well last year just being careful what I ate and then another lockdown happened. At my absolute highest I was about 233 and have yo-yo'd up and down, 25 pounds lost, 20 pounds gained, 25 pounds lost, 20 pounds gained. It was really noticeable after 3 months of healthy eating then going back to junk food how much my motivation, mental health and physical health was impacted by my diet.

After some colleagues at work started on Optislim I decided to give it a go, mostly to try and break the current bad food cycle I was in. I did it as a 3 2 1 diet, 3 snacks of less than 100 cal, 2 shakes and 1 meal. My work mates tried to just do shakes (unsuccessfully) and a friend of mine did keto a few months back and ended up malnourishing herself so I didn't want to do anything to extreme, and the VLDC diets work as ketosis. As a general rule I don't approve of removing major food groups as a diet.

Anyway I have done 3 weeks on the 3 2 1 diet (partly because thats how many shakes came in 2 boxes, when replacing 2 meals). I will challenge anyone who says the shakes are delicious. I had chocolate and banana and after a few days the banana was drinkable but even after 3 weeks the chocolate was still disgusting. Other than the taste, it went really well. I had my one meal as lunch as I have a physical job, and didn't want to be working hungry. On day 2, I had a bad headache that no amount of drinking water got rid of but after that I was fine. I never really felt hungry, though I wouldn't say I felt full. It is winter where I live and picking the coldest month of the year to have a milkshake for dinner perhaps wasn't the best plan but it was when I had a break from studying (I study full time and work full time) and when I was under the least amount of stress. Almost immediately started sleeping better. Mood improved too, though wouldn't say I had heaps of energy.

In the first week I lost about 6 pounds and then it slowed down a bit in week 2 and 3. After 3 weeks I have lost 14 pounds. I have now switch to three meals a day, nothing special but trying to cook everything fresh. No snacks, nothing processed. I have been doing this for the past 3 days and I definitely is a bit weird to have solid food in my stomach again. Will give this three weeks also and see if the weight loss continues. What I had liked about weight watchers was a points based system where I could still eat regular food. I'm trying not to do any special diets, just not snacking and sticking to standard meals, as long term I don't want to be keto/vegetarian etc and everyone one I know who lost weight in these fad diets put it back on as soon as they stopped. I have lost weight before doing this, so its just a matter of maintaining it. Which brings me to reddit. Kinda hoping posting on here will keep me motivated.

Also a question: Anyone got a solution to the itchy skin that comes from weight loss? I already have stretch marks from gaining weight (thanks uni days) and don't really want any more.
