Started diet & exercise regime. How much can I expect muscle gain to impact my weight loss goal?
My goal weight is 50kg (I'm 5'1). I have started exercising and dieting and it seems like it will take me about 6 months to reach this goal. The only thing is that my goal is based on what I looked like when I was previously at that weight, but I didn't exercise at the time. So I was wondering if it would be worth factoring in the difference in muscle gain when deciding on my goal? The exercise I'm doing is rock climbing 2x per week. I've gained a noticable amount of muscle already by doing this for the past 3 months. I'd also like to know how I can calculate how my calorie needs change when I can't directly measure my muscle %.
