Is anyone else tired or the online fitness community shitting on cardio?
I get it. We all get it. Lifting weights makes you strong, "tones" your body, the muscle definition replaces the fat, and you continue to burn calories for a little while even after youre done with your routine. Jesus Christ the weight lifting circlejerk is so tired.
I am a 25 year old female that started off over 200 pounds. I tried that. I calculated my tdee, bmr, all of the relevant acronyms. I was lifting heavy 4 days a week. I gave it three months and while i was getting stronger my body was not getting any smaller. Now that ive started doing hiit 6 days a week I'm seeing the progress that i wanted to see in the first place. I could be further along in my journey by now if i had just done nothing but cardio from the very beginning and saved the lifting for when I get to a healthy bmi.
Now it's almost like as a woman if you say you only do cardio people assume youre nOt SeRiOUs about the gym or you're ignorant about diet and exercise. Yeah I know how it works, thanks. Im content with running on the treadmill for 30 minutes though, so save your advice for someone who asked for it.
