Update - I lost 100 lbs and moved my family across the country

Hey all,

It's been a month since my last post (original post linked below), and I wanted to stop by and provide a quick update.

We have finally just about settled into the new place, and I am starting to get back into my daily routine. Running is incredible here! At least in the summer time lol.

The green here is on a different level than I ever knew was possible! The trails around my new place, literally right outside of my door, are through a forest (pics linked below), and have some very challenging uphill and downhill segments. In fact, since I live on a mountain now, the whole area is up and down. Great for pushing me, not so great when I just want to go for a nice, easy jog...

I have decided that it is time to increase my calories. I was starting to feel a lethargic fairly consistently, and looking (in my opinion) a little unhealthy. So, I have increased up to 2,000 per day (previous was 1,750), and immediately gained some lbs back. I am going to let my body normalize at the higher calories, continue exercising and moving daily, and just try to keep in mind that I am doing the right thing, regardless of weight gain.

Speaking of weight gain, I did put on 5 lbs that have taken me back over 190 lbs (this morning the scale said 191.4). From my research online, people are saying that it is normal to put on 5-6 lbs after increasing calories, so I am trying to not let it get me down, or to knee jerk and change back to lower calories too quickly. This is about the long haul, not the short term, so keeping my long term goals in mind of being able to eat more flexibly while still maintaining a good physique is critical right now.

Speaking of goals, I am still chasing my life goal of having a 6 pack. Even though I am increasing my daily caloric intake, I have introduced hill sprints to my daily (for now) routine. They kick my ass! Out of breath and weak feeling legs in minutes haha. Great feeling when it happens, not so great the next day when my muscles and bones start questioning my life choices lol.

At one month in (during the best season in Oregon) I am very happy with our decision to move, and am still a little in shock that its my new life :)

Here's to chasing our dreams together! Happy losing r/loseit!
